Artificial Intelligence Policy

Acta Dei: Jurnal Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat recognizes that Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Generative AI technologies can support the preparation of manuscripts and the documentation of community service activities. However, the use of AI must be carried out responsibly and transparently while maintaining academic integrity and publication ethics.

Authors are fully responsible for all content of their submitted manuscripts, including the accuracy of information, description of community service activities, data, analysis, documentation, results, references, and conclusions. The use of AI does not reduce the authors' responsibility for the accuracy, originality, and integrity of their published articles.

1. Permitted Use of AI

Authors may use AI as an assistive tool for:

  • Checking grammar, spelling, and language style.

  • Improving readability and language editing.

  • Translating or assisting with language preparation.

  • Preparing preliminary summaries that are subsequently checked and verified by the authors.

  • Creating illustrations, diagrams, or visualizations related to community service activities, where appropriate and clearly explained.

  • Assisting with administrative or technical tasks related to the preparation of the manuscript.

2. Prohibited Use of AI

AI must not be used to:

  • Fabricate or falsify data or information related to community service activities.

  • Create results, activities, participants, or outcomes that did not actually occur.

  • Manipulate photographs, documentation, graphs, or other evidence in a misleading manner.

  • Generate fabricated references or citations.

  • Commit plagiarism or conceal the sources of information.

  • Replace the authors' responsibility in describing, analyzing, and interpreting the community service activities.

  • Generate content that misrepresents the actual implementation, impact, or outcomes of community service activities.

3. Disclosure of AI Use

If AI is used substantially in the preparation of a manuscript, authors must disclose its use in the Acknowledgements or other appropriate section of the manuscript, including the name of the AI tool used and the purpose for which it was used.

Authors may also be required to complete an AI usage declaration form as part of the publication process of an article in Acta Dei: Jurnal Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat.

Authors are required to declare whether they have used Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools in the writing, editing, translation, data processing, documentation, or any other stage of manuscript preparation.

The use of AI does not relieve authors of their responsibility for the accuracy, originality, academic integrity, and overall content of their manuscript.

4. AI and Authorship

Artificial Intelligence (AI) cannot be listed as an author or corresponding author. Authorship is given only to individuals who have made significant contributions to the manuscript or community service activity and meet the journal's authorship requirements.

5. Editorial Evaluation Policy Statement

Editors and reviewers have the right to request clarification regarding the use of AI when deemed necessary. If the use of AI is found to violate the journal's policies, the Editor may request revisions, reject the manuscript, or take other appropriate action in accordance with Acta Dei: Jurnal Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat's publication ethics policies.
